The Naples Public Library announced an upcoming benefit concert featuring the live music of Heather Pierson. The concert will be held on Saturday, June 30 at 7:30 p.m. at the historic Deertrees Theatre in Harrison and is part of the Naples Public Library’s Centennial Celebration.
Heather is a veteran musician, songwriter and composer who has produced and released four CDs on her own record label, Vessel Recordings, which is now enjoying international distribution. She has performed all over the United States and has shared the stage with such artists as Maia Sharp, folk legend Jonathan Edwards and rock superstar Meatloaf. Her talents on the piano, keyboard, percussion and acoustic guitar have earned praise from renowned music critic Carl McColman of New Age Voice Magazine who wrote, “Pierson has a lovely and self-assured voice, (her) lyrics are positive, all imbued with a love for rhythm, community and nature.” Her live performances seamlessly cover a range of styles, from blues to jazz, folk to world beat and new age.
In addition to her musical talent, Pierson is also the children’s librarian at the Naples Public Library. Since coming to the library in 2004, Pierson has taken the children’s programming to a whole new level. From Storytime to Musical Playgroup, hundreds of children have been affected by Pierson’s dedication and talent.
“We are so lucky to have her here at the library,” said Library Director Meteena Edwards, “the kids just love her. Her musical talent and love of working with kids blend together to create a special energy in the Children’s Library. And to have her perform for the Library’s Centennial makes that event even more special.”
Tickets for the concert are just $15 with proceeds to benefit the library. They can be purchased at the library, Morning Dew Natural Foods in Bridgton or any local Krainin Real Estate Office. For more information on the show or any other library event
