Baptisms

Bill and Jane Diamond celebrated the baptisms of three of their grandchildren, May 26 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Westbrook. Baptized were Ella and Ava Dumont, daughters of Kristin and Jean Pierre Dumont of Franklin, Tenn. and Luke Akey, son of Karyn and Peter Akey of Standish. These children are the fifth generation to be baptized at Trinity.

Health Council

The Windham Health Council will not meet June 6. They will not be holding any meetings for the time being.

Meeting

The Rebekah Lodge No. 71 will meet June 6 at 7:30 p.m. at the Odd Fellows Hall. They will have the reading of the first nomination of officers. Brenda Collett and Joan Labbe are in charge of refreshments and the program is a “brown bag auction.”

Visitors

Clarence and Liz Wisecup, Highland Cliff Road, recently had company for a week. Their son, Michael, and his wife, Emily, were here from Coronado, Calif.

Library

Works by artist Jenn Keef, of Standish, are currently on display at the Windham Public Library. The nine acrylic pieces are done on wood or canvas, including a triptych (folding set of panels), and display a variety of subjects.

The bright, colorful paintings have a modern feel while carrying a look and style of old-world Eastern artwork. Keef’s work will be on display through July 13. For more information, library hours, or directions, call the library at 892-1908.

Birthday

Harry L. Lang celebrated his 91st birthday May 22. He enjoyed dinner at Thatcher’s Restauant with Dennis Townsend, Meegan King, Florence Fossett, Sue Plourde, Margaret Garry and Simone Swartzenruber.
