The Windham softball team scored plenty of runs en route to a 14-10 win over Noble on Friday, May 25. The Eagles jumped on the Knights for six runs in the top of the first inning and they never looked back as they improved to 8-8 on the year.

Ally Noble went the distance on the mound for Windham. The Eagles ended the regular season with a three-game winning streak.

Windham is No. 8 in the most recent West A Heal Point standings. The final standings will not be released before Thursday, May 31, so the Eagles were waiting to see who they would have to face in Tuesday’s prelim round game.

Lakers ranked third in West B

The Lake Region softball team continues to play well as tournament time approaches. The Lakers scored a 4-1 win over Poland on Tuesday to up their record to 11-4 with only a game at St. Dom’s on Wednesday, May 30, remaining to be played.

The Lakers are current at No. 3 in the West B Heal Points race, which means they’ll get a bye into the quarterfinal round of the regional tourney. If they stay at No. 3, they would play a quarterfinal game against the winner of the 6-11 prelim match-up. That quarterfinal game is scheduled for Thursday, June 7.
