Cody Haskell, a junior at Windham High School, has been selected as the recipient of the second annual Windham Historical Society Book Award.

A college prep student, Haskell enjoys reading about history and watching the History Channel. He also is on the chess team.

The historical society instituted the award in 2006 to recognize and encourage a member of the junior class at Windham High School who shows a strong interest in history. Students are selected by the History Department.

The award will be presented on Awards Night.

Founded in 1967, Windham Historical Society is a nonprofit educational organization committed to preserving the history of the town and providing access to the public through museums, lectures and educational tours.
