Computer thief

On March 22, a computer was reported stolen from a Shore Road residence. A suspect has been identified and case is under investigation.

Breach of privacy

On March 30, 2006 a locked gate, protecting private property in the Bowery Beach Road area, was broken. The damage was estimated at $1,000.

Lost dog

On March 29, a loose dog was found in the parking lot behind Town Hall. Its owner was contacted.

Stolen mower

On March 30, a Toro riding lawn mower, valued at $2,000 was stolen from a Spurwink Avenue residence.

Gotcha

On April 1, several vehicles were hit with paintballs while driving along Route 77.

Dog bite

On April 2, a dog bit a Ram Island Farm area resident.

The case has been forwarded to the South Portland Animal Control Officer.

Cleaning up

The hired cleaning crew of a Broad Cove resident home was found responsible for stealing a store gift card, and then shopping at the store with the resident’s checkbook. The resident discovered the gift card was missing on April 3, and then found a check duplicate written out to the store in a stranger’s handwriting.

Summonses

On March 28, Elton Elwell, 39, of 50 Colin Kelly Road, South Portland, was issued a summons on Route 77 for speeding 49 in a 35 mph zone.

On March 29, Margareta Piveronas, 38, of 312 Ocean House Road, was issued a summons on Route 77 for an unlicensed dog.

On April 1, William Laverty, 54, of 303 Delano Park, was issued a summons on Scott Dyer Road for speeding 34 in a 25 mph zone.

On April 2, a male, 17, of South Portland, was issued a summons on Sawyer Road for violation of an interim license.

Arrests

On March 30, Melinda Monks, 50, of 3 Odyssey Lane, was arrested at her home and charged with two counts of violating a protection order from harassment.

On March 28, Adam Mackie, 18, of 58 Mussey Street, South Portland, was arrested on Spurwink Avenue and charged with operating under the influence of drugs.

Fire and Rescue

Cape Elizabeth rescue responded to seven calls between March 28 and April 4. Four patients were transported to Maine Medical Center, two to Mercy Hospital and one required no transport.

Cape Elizabeth Fire Department responded to a call on Lydon Lane at 6:38 p.m. on March 28; an alarm activation on Monastery Road at 12:51 p.m. on March 30; a brush fire on Columbus Road at 4:18 p.m. on March 30; an alarm activation on Fox Hill Road at 7:05 p.m. on April 1.
