Thank you to the dozen Catholics who stood for life in Portland and in Westbrook last Saturday. Your willingness to endure the cold, wind and snow from 2:30 until 5:10 p.m. was a sacrifice and is appreciated.
Special thanks are owed to Paul Madore and the Maine Grassroots Coalition for organizing the outdoor press conference in Portland and the picket line at St. Hyacinth’s Church in Westbrook. Picketers were present from other organizations including the Pro Life Education Association (PLEA), Maine Right to Life and the Knights of Columbus.
Thank you also, to the many Westbrook citizens who made our picket line a success. Your willingness to change dinner plans and cancel your turn signals in support of life was encouraging. Your honks and thumbs up warmed our hearts.
State Rep. Driscoll also deserves recognition – a chutzpah award for a 100% pro abortion voting record, holding his dinner in a Catholic
Church, and then advertising this “accomplishment” on his party
website.
Eight current and former elected officials supported Driscoll in his
pro-abortion reelection-campaign heating-oil event. These eight are: Phil Bartlett, Colleen Hilton, Tim Crellin, Brendan Reilly, Mike Foley, Dotty Aube, Bob Duplessie and Ron Usher.
These eight, all members of Driscoll’s party, know the symbolism of
crossing a picket line that included photographs of aborted babies.
Their actions suggest that they are willing to trade innocent blood
for heating oil – with a Church photo opportunity to sweeten the deal.
