How did last season end: Lost to Bonny Eagle in overtime in the Western Maine final

Key veterans: Seniors Meaghan Murphy, Alicia Wescott, Vanessa Enman, Aly Bourgeois and Kate Lybrand; juniors Erin Knott, Julia Cuddy, Jacquie Potvin and Molly McDonough

Key newcomers: Seniors Bailey Bedell and Kayla Brant; juniors Meghan Quigley, Lauren Ludka, Jenn Chau and Darcy Pratt; sophomore Alyssa McCarthy; and freshman Erin Murphy

Key concern: Team chemistry will play a huge part in how this team does this season.

Coach’s outlook: With a lot of talent, this group should be a top contender in the league. The team’s outlook is to get back in the Western Maine final.

Team: Football

Key concern: Our #1 priority is instilling confidence in the team.

Coach’s outlook: We’re young with lots of sophomores. We have a small, but dedicated group of seniors. We’re happy with the positive attitude and the work ethic. The improvement has been noticeable.

Team: Boys Soccer

Coach (yrs in position): Tim Gillis (7th year)

Fall 2004 record: 9-4

How did last season end: Lost to Cheverus in the second round

Key veterans: Chad Cleaves, Travis Rand and Eben Perkins

Key newcomers: Galen Perkins and Matt Foye

Key concern: Injuries – we’ve already had co-captain Kevin Lessard out for at least a week with torn cartilage – and team unity. They’ve got to play good and hard together.

Coach’s outlook: We graduated two four-year players and we have some different players and new JV coaches. I’m excited for the challenges that lie ahead.

Team: Girls Soccer

Key concern: Concerns are always injuries. We’ve already lost our sweeper, Amanda Northrup, for the season. Filling that spot will be difficult because of Amanda’s skill.

Coach’s outlook: With the core of our team being seniors, I expect them to step up to the challenge in leading the rest of the team with the “I can and I will” attitude that they have displayed in the preseason.

Team: Golf

Coach (yrs in position): Mark Luthe (1st year)

Key veterans: Greg Perault, Adam Fenderson, Justin Sawyer, Kyle Sanborn and Chris Howard

Key newcomers: Zack Joy, Andrew Blais, Andy Coulombe and Ross Fletcher

Key concern: We lost a number of key players to graduation. We are young, but we have a lot of talent.

Coach’s outlook: Though we have a young team, look for us in states!

Coach (yrs in position): Suzanne Hussey (1st year)

Key veterans: Jen Robertson, Alyssa Whitlock and Kayla Kelly

Key newcomers: Keelin O’Connor and Alicia Fitzgerald

Key concern: We’re still in the early stages.

Coach’s outlook: We have a great group, and we’re looking to really start building a program. We hope to improve in the future.

Key concern: Numbers

Coach’s outlook: These boys have worked extremely hard over the summer. I think they are much more prepared going into the season.
