The following University of Southern Maine students received awards at the annual 2005 Recognition Day ceremonies this spring:

Raymond:

Alan C. Simmons, an industrial technology major, has been awarded the Richard H. Carter Technology Scholarship. He is 2002 graduate of Westbrook High School and the son of Gary and Anne Simmons of Raymond.

Standish:

Amy Beth Doucette, a linguistics major, has been awarded the Gertrude L. Stone Scholarship. She is a 1989 graduate of Deering High School and a 1991 graduate of Endicott College. She is the daughter of Nancy and Brain Carkhuff of Portland and is married o Robert Doucette of Standish.

Stacy E. LeBlanc, a business administration major, has been awarded the Mary L. Hastings Scholarship, the Charles N. Green Scholarship, the Duane Wood Scholarship, and the Portland Pipeline Corporation Scholarship. She is a graduate of Lake Region High School and the daughter of Cathy LeBlanc of Standish and Rick LeBlanc of Windham.

Susan E. McLaughlin, a masters of accounting major, has been awarded a Certificate of Excellence for Performance at the Highest Level in Taxation. She graduated from USM in 1985 and lives with her husband, Charles in Standish.

Windham:

Warren Mylean Evans, a masters of accounting student, has been awarded a Department of Accounting and Finance Certificate of Excellence for Performance at the Highest Level in Auditing. He graduated from Governor Dummer Academy in 1982 and is the son of Ruth and Glen Evans of Wilton and is married to Trish Rodrigue of Windham.
