As many as 400 bicyclists of all ages and skill levels will ride through the Maine countryside Aug. 6 and 7 raising money for the Maine Chapter of the National MS Society.
The MS 150 Blue Rock Industries Bike to the Breakwater Bicycling Event will be based at the Alfond Center at the college. Rides will begin at 7 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.
The two-day event is based at St. Joseph’s College in Standish, and includes 25-, 50-, and 75-mile rides. Each day’s ride begins at the college. Cyclists will be riding as individuals and as teams, raising $300,000 for the Maine Chapter. These riders will join more than 80,000 cyclists nationwide biking to raise money to end the devastating effects of multiple sclerosis.
