Cutline (top): Gorham High School, built in 1868 at a cost of about $10,000, was located at the corner of South and Preble streets in Gorham Village. It served until 1939 when the Shaw School opened. The old school then served as a public safety building but was demolished in 1974. Photo courtesy of George Watson, Gorham Historical Society archivist.
