Gorham Savings Bank announced today that a top executive of Dead River Oil Co. has been elected to the board of directors.
Richard M. Roderick, the senior vice president and chief financial officer for Dead River, joined the Board on July 1. Previous to joining Dead River, Roderick worked as a senior auditor at Arthur Young & Co. in Portland, and earlier as a Naval flight officer based in Brunswick.
In addition to his new service as a Director for Gorham Savings Bank, Roderick has been a member of the board of directors for the Cancer Community Center, the Maine Association of Nonprofits, the Diocese of Portland, the University of Maine Business School Advisory Committee, and the United Way of Eastern Maine.
“Dick Roderick is a respected business leader in Maine, and his involvement in a number of community and civic based organizations exemplifies his commitment of giving back to our community,” said Gorham Savings Bank President Chris Emmons. “Dick’s background and common shared vision of community banking made him an easy choice for our board.”
A graduate of the University of Notre Dame, the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School and the University of Maine, Roderick lives in Cape Elizabeth with his wife, Patti. They have three adult children and two grandchildren.
“I have always been impressed with Gorham Savings Bank’s role as a community bank in the towns and cities it serves,” Roderick said. “And it is the bank’s own dedication to its customers that makes me so proud to join their board of directors.”
