Spiller entertains Woman’s Club
Elaine Spiller, 1st vice president of the Westbrook Woman’s Club, invited club members to spend Tuesday, June 28, at her home on Sebago Lake.
Members taking advantage of the warm, sunny day were Marilyn Kennie of Ruskin, Fla., past president; Evelyn Meserve, president; Carol Quint, 2nd vice president; Elizabeth Young, treasurer; and Anita Blackstone, Nancy Curran, Patricia Currier, Margery Eames, Frances Fogg, Mary Gagnon, Judy Getchell, Nancy Gowen, Ruth Joy, Joan Labrecque, Carolyn Leavitt, Louise Leighton, Lois Pratt, Georgia Therio, Jean Thomas and Judy Vanni. Rita DiSilvestro of San Diego, Calif., who was visiting her sister-in-law, Georgia Therio, was a guest.
Spiller piloted her “party boat” and took many to see the fabled Frye’s Leap while others preferred to relax on the patio overlooking the lake. After lunch, several braved the somewhat chilly lake water, floating around on “noodles,” Quint said.
Quint said the day was so clear that the mountains in the distance were visible in all directions. “Everyone agreed that it was a wonderful way to spend a beautiful summer day in Maine,” Quint said.
