Workshop to Help Those Caring for Older Family Members or Friends

June 22, 29, July 6 & 13, 2005

The Partnership for Healthy Aging is pleased to offer Putting the Puzzle together: getting Ready to Offer Information, Cure and Support to Older Family Members and Friends on Wednesdays, June 22, 29 and July 6 and 13, from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at Southern Maine Agency on Aging, 136 U. S. Route 1 in Scarborough.

Many of us will help care for older partners, family members or friends at some point in our lives. While providing care to our aging relatives or friends, we may feel unprepared to handle this caregiver role. This four-part course provides information necessary to understand your options and begin a conversation before a crisis occurs.

Community service experts and an elder law attorney cover the following topics over the course of the series: Community Resources, Living Alternatives, Legal Tools for Planning Ahead, and Paying for Long Term Care. Each session is held once per week and lasts two hours.

The cost of the program is $20 for the series, and includes a comprehensive Guidebook for the Caregiving Journey. Advanced registration is required. Please call 775-1095 to register or for more information.
