Windham
The race is on for this year’s Windham town elections. Six candidates are running for three seats on the School Board and another six for the two vacant seats on the Town Council.
In the School Board elections, incumbents Kate Brix, Michael Duffy and Toby Pennels will be running against newcomers Anita Charles, Marge Govoni and Michael Mack. Voters will be asked to pick three out of the six for the new board. Mary Wassick will be running for the two-year School Board position unopposed.
In the Town Council elections, Daniel Keene, Jeffrey Pierce and Carol Waig will be vying for Tom Bartell’s former seat as Town Councilor at large. Willard Blanchard, John MacKinnon and Joseph Prevost will be vying for David Ennis’ seat as Town Councilor for the East District. All voters, regardless of district, may pick one candidate for each council race.
All voting will be held in the Windham High School auxillary gym on June 14. Polls will open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. Please see page 4 and 5 for Windham election coverage.
Standish
There are two contested races in Standish’s election on June 14. Current Planning Board Chairman Paul Mosley is challenging Incumbent Town Councilor Philip Pomerleau for his seat on the council. And challenger Corey MacDonald is vying for Incumbent SAD 6 Director Michael Delcourt’s seat on the school board. For coverage on these contested races please see page 3.
Voters in Standish will also be voting on the SAD 6 school budget referendum on Tuesday.
All Standish voting is held at George E. Jack Elementary School from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
