Jack Cowie III of Scarborough has been named Sales Executive, National Accounts for Minor League Baseball. He will be responsible for building and maintaining national partnerships for Minor League Baseball with new sponsors.

“We are excited to have Jack on board,” said Rod Meadows, director, sales and marketing for Minor League Baseball. “His experience in creating innovative and brand building corporate partnerships will be a strong addition to the Minor League Baseball marketing team.”

Cowie has operated his own sports marketing company-Highland Marketing Group-since 1998. Prior to that, Jack was Senior Consulting Director for Advantage International Marketing; Vice President, Marketing and Sales for Young America, the New York Yacht Club’s America’s Cup entry; and Vice President of Sales for Sail Sports International of Westport, CT.

He has been involved in event marketing and corporate sponsorship sales and consulting for more than 20 years, including some of the biggest events in sports, such as the 1996 Atlanta and 1994 Lillehammer Olympic Games; Wimbledon and U.S. Open tennis tournaments; America’s Cup yacht racing; and various PGA golf events.

Cowie has been involved with Minor League Baseball for several years through his Highland Marketing Group, brokering deals between his clients and a variety of teams in the Eastern and New York-Penn Leagues. This year, he put together a package for the Hannaford Supermarkets chain as the sole sponsor for the 2005 Hannaford Eastern League All-Star Game in Portland.

Cowie lives in Scarborough, with his wife Trish and their three children.
