Grandparents, aunts and uncles are raising grandchildren, nieces and nephews. They face complex legal issues.

Family Connections is offering a free legal education program to help relatives learn about the legal system in regard to guardianship, adoption, child protective proceedings, and how to find good legal services. There will be a panel of attorneys providing information and answering questions. Childcare is available on site to people who pre-register. Space is limited.

The Legal Education Program will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. Saturday, May 21, at the Southern Maine Agency on Aging on U.S. Route 1 in Scarborough.

To register, call (1-866-298-0896) or e-mail (kosgood@kinshipconnections.org) Kim Osgood at Families and Children Together and leave an address and phone number so that she can send information.
