Naples elections will be held in the gym at the Naples Town Office on May 17. The polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Absentee ballots may either be requested by mail, phone or picked up at the town office. All ballots must be filled out and received by 8 p.m. on election day to be counted.

There will be a write-in for Naples’ representative on the MSAD 61 School Board since no one handed in candidate papers. Anthony Longley of Casco Road is running for the planning board, unopposed. Barbara Clark and Jeffrey Merrill are running for re-election to the Budget Committee of which there are four seats available.

There will be one referendum question on the ballot that will read: “Shall the town vote to adopt the town of Naples Comprehensive Plan as developed as developed by the Naples Comprehensive Plan Committee?” Copies of the comprehensive plan may be picked up at the Naples Town Office.

For the Naples Board of Selectmen, there are two contested seats this year and four candidates. Incumbents Dana Watson and Christine Powers will be running for re-election. Newcomers Dan Allen and Bill Weese will be running for their first term on the board. Voters will be asked to pick two on the ballot.
