This photo taken in 1974 shows the old Star Theatre being demolished during the downtown Urban Renewal project. The theatre stood for many years on Main Street at the corner of Central Street and was a favorite spot for many Westbrook residents. The building in the left of the photo was Kourapis Restaurant with Central Street to its right. This section of Central Street between Main Street and Wayside Drive was closed off and made into a small plaza. Martini Lane now occupies the site of the theatre and Main Street CafA?© now occupies the Kourapis building.
