Although many people recall the big Boody’s store which sat on the corner of Route 302 and 115, and faced 302, not too many have ever mentioned this first store which actually faced out onto Route 115. Although not too clear, given the age of the picture, a closeup shows nine people sitting on the porch and two standing. There are kids and men, and women with fancy hats – perhaps from the millinery shop which was a few steps away. The sign announces H. H. Boody Dry Goods and Groceries. This tiny old photo and many others like it, are among the hundreds in the collections at Windham Historical Society.
