Windham Christian Academy’s fifth annual fundraising live and silent auction takes place at the school on Friday, April 29 beginning at 6 p.m. and running no later than 8 p.m. Money raised will go toward the school’s operating fund and athletics.
The auction has a new twist this year – using EBay to auction items prior to the live dinner/auction. The school has already auctioned off quite a few things including signed Super Bowl memorabilia, which was donated by a parent. To access the online auction search by seller and use ID “windhamchristianacademy” (typed as one word). To place a bid you would need to register.
There is also a link to EBay through the school’s Web site www.windhamchristian.org. The school has already begun shipping items all across the country. Local bidders could choose to pick up items and forgo the shipping costs.
Keeley the Caterer has graciously donated the dinner again this year. Adults pay $10 and children under 12 are $5. Those interested in the auction only are asked for a $1 donation.
“We always have an interesting array of items to bid on including a getaway at Point Sebago, golfing, toys for the kids, jewelry, legal services, gift certificates, furniture, sports memorabilia, antiques, Sea Dogs tickets, loam, something for everyone,” said event organizer Karen Burnell.
Entertainment this year is to be provided from students at the school. For tickets or to donate items call WCA at 892-2244.
