Jill Gray (left) and Kathleen Walker were presented with plaques at the Standish Town Council meeting on April 12 recognizing their service with the Public Health and Safety Committee. Walker, having recently returned to fulltime work, does not have the free time to devote to the committee she has served on since 1998. Gray is looking at a move that will take her out of the area. The plaques state, “In appreciation for dedicated service to the Public Health and Safety Committee and the Town of Standish. Volunteers are the heart of our community.” Staff photo by Bruce LeClaire
