In the first place, I don’t believe Mr. Esty had any right to promise Mr. Flannery 90 parking spaces in the CVS parking lot. We have really given him everything he wants, and it’s time to stop.
The parking garage was built for the people parking in front of Dana Warp Mill. They took a back seat so Mr. Flannery could have it for his building. That’s not enough. Now he wants 90 parking spaces in the CVS lot. NO WAY.
I believe there is going to be two stories added to the building where the Dollar Store and the Maine Street Cafe are. They ignored 675 people who wanted the park and approved a building for the park. There is to be 20 parking spaces but no provision for the rest in the building. I was told parking was not an issue, but I believe it is a BIG issue.
Instead of bringing stores to the city, you are going to lose what few we have if you give in to Mr. Flannery. CVS does a tremendous business, and they need those parking places. Some days you can’t find a space now.
Wake up, council, and listen to the people who voted you to the council. People who have lived here all their lives know lots more than you young people. BUT YOU DON”T CARE ABOUT THEM.
I hope come election time the people clean house. They did it once before, and I hope they do it again.
