Standish “Odyssey of the Mind” winners
Students from the George E. Jack School in Standish won two 2nd place trophies in the Odyssey of the Mind state tournament held April 2nd at Bates College. The Odyssey of the Mind program is an international creative problem-solving program that fosters creativity and team-building skills in students from Kindergarten through high school.
The teams are now eligible to participate in the World Finals tournament May 21-25 in Boulder, Colorado. Participants will include teams from 40 U.S. states and 30 countries including Australia, China, Germany, Hungary, Japan, Kazakhstan, Poland, Russia, Singapore, the United Kingdom, and West Africa. More than 20,000 people are expected to attend the tournament. This will be a fantastic cultural experience for the kids!
