Windham has a lot of bridges, but the South Windham site called Little Falls, is probably the oldest. A bridge was here in the mid-1700s. The bridge shown here is from the early part of the 1900s when the road was dirt and the ‘sidewalk’ made from wood. A carriage, minus the horse, is shown at the left. With the traffic lights and big cranes now at this location, and the construction of a new bridge underway, few of us can recall the simpler days and the bridge shown here.
