The lark sparrow has been seen consistently at the Public Works Department building in the Scarborough Industrial Park and it appears to be getting more colorful. Two Eastern bluebirds were seen on Cedar Brook Drive and a Carolina wren was seen on Holly Street in Scarborough. A red-bellied woodpecker was seen in the Pine Point area of Scarborough and red-winged blackbirds were seen on Ash Swamp Road.

At the Lobster Shack in Cape Elizabeth there were white-winged and black scoters (numbers way down), black guillemots, common eiders and one great cormorant. At Two Lights State Park there were , common eiders, 7 Harlequin ducks and black guillemots in summer plumage. At Pond Cove in Cape Elizabeth there was a snow goose.

A first-year Iceland gull was seen at Mill Creek in South Portland. At Spring Point in South Portland there were two thick-billed murres, and greater scaup.

At the Portland Fish Pier there were one or two bald eagles. The snowy owl continues to be seen at the Portland International Jetport. A snowy owl was also seen soaring above the Fore River in Portland.
