Sophomores in Cape Elizabeth and South Portland high schools may now apply for a free, Rotary-sponsored leadership program this June.
The Rotary Club of South Portland/Cape Elizabeth will be sponsoring two or more high school sophomores from those two communities for an intensive four-day program for community youth leaders, to be held from June 26 to 29 at Camp Hinds in Raymond.
Known as the RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) program, the annual conference will introduce students to ideas and experiences that will help develop and enhance leadership skills. RYLA is an outdoor living and leadership experience that challenges participants physically, emotionally and intellectually through group and individual activities involving problem solving, communications and organizational tasks. Some of these activities include a ropes course, compass course, canoeing, water sports and relationship building.
Applicants must be sophomores in good standing at Cape Elizabeth or South Portland high schools who have exhibited cialis daily coupon leadership in the home, school and community. Rotary will make the final selections through interviews and will assume all conference costs for the selected participants.
Applications may be obtained at the high school guidance offices or by calling Rotarian Joan Frustaci at 767-2490 or 807-5889.
