ATLANTA – The Atlanta Braves’ 14-winning streak ended Saturday night with a 1-0 loss to the last-place Miami Marlins, who scored the lone run on reliever Jordan Walden’s wild pitch in the ninth inning.
The Braves fell one victory shy of tying the 2000 team for the franchise’s longest winning streak since the 1891 Boston Beaneaters won 18 straight.
Adeiny Hechavarria led off the Miami ninth with a triple, scoring on Walden’s wild pitch.
NATIONALS 8, PHILLIES 5: Jayson Werth launched a two-run homer in the seventh inning for his 1,000th career hit, highlighting a five-run rally for Washington at home.
CUBS 6, CARDINALS 5: Pinch-hitter Dioner Navarro hit a run-scoring double in the eighth inning to cap a three-run rally, as visiting Chicago took a series at St. Louis for the first time in nearly three years.
PADRES 3, REDS 1: Will Venable homered for the second game in a row, and visiting San Diego took advantage of Cincinnati’s season-high four errors
METS 4, DIAMONDBACKS 1: Rookie Wilmer Flores drove in three runs to extend his RBI streak to four games and Zack Wheeler (5-2) pitched effectively into the seventh at Phoenix.

TIGERS 9, YANKEES 3: Miguel Cabrera again homered against the Yankees and had three hits while Torii Hunter homered and had four RBI at New York.
The AL Central leading Tigers won for the 17th time in 21 games since the All-Star break.
BLUE JAYS 5, ATHLETICS 4: Josh Reddick hit two home runs, a day after connecting three times for Oakland, but host Toronto got shots from Jose Bautista and Jose Reyes.
RANGERS 5, ASTROS 4: Alex Rios starred in his Texas debut, tying the game with an RBI triple in the eighth inning and scoring the go-ahead run to help the Rangers in a comeback win at Houston.
Elvis Andrus added a two-run homer as the Rangers extended their winning streak to a season-high six games.
WHITE SOX 5, TWINS 4: Conor Gillaspie lined a go-ahead single in the sixth inning and Chicago rallied to win at home.
The White Sox have won just three of their 11 games against Minnesota this season.
ANGELS 7, INDIANS 2: C.J. Wilson (12-6) won his fourth straight decision as visiting Los Angeles sent the Indians to their sixth straight loss.
INTERLEAGUE
GIANTS 3, ORIOLES 2: Sergio Romo retired slugger Chris Davis on a game-ending groundout as San Francisco held on for a 3-2 win after Hunter Pence’s go-ahead, two-run double in the sixth inning.
Davis crushed his 42nd home run leading off the eighth — the drive to right-center was thought to be one of the farthest in his career.
DODGERS 5, RAYS 0: Zack Greinke (10-3) scattered six hits through 61/3 innings and Adrian Gonzalez homered for host Los Angeles.
Tampa Bay lost its fourth straight, matching its longest skid this year.
