On the Record: LePage, as governor, has focused on streamlining or eliminating regulations, especially for businesses; cutting taxes, and limiting welfare benefits. He also made paying off hospital Medicaid debt a priority, striking a deal to leverage revenue from future liquor sales. He also has rejected efforts to expand Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act.
