1. Working with school leadership to define thoughtful and intentional technology use in the classroom and using our best judgment as a collective group to move forward. \n2. Retention and recruitment of educators and school employees and supporting their professional development and environment. \n3. Continuing the momentum of improving infrastructure to ensure a safe and welcoming environment that meets the educational needs of all students.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

Why are you running?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\n\n\n\n

I am grateful for the educators and administrators who have provided our three children with an excellent educational experience over the last eight years. To support these professionals and our public schools, I want to use my time and skill set to fulfill the stated School Board goals.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

What is the biggest challenge facing your area\u2019s schools? The biggest opportunity?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\n\n\n\n

Education at all levels is facing the explosion of AI tools. Without vigilance and anticipatory guidance, AI could compromise the cognitive endurance and critical thinking skills we want for our children. We have an opportunity to get in front of AI so we as a district can decide if, when, and how it interfaces with the educational experience of our children.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

A top issue for many parents is the age of Maine\u2019s school infrastructure. How would you address this issue locally from your position on the school board?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\n\n\n\n

In 2025, Cape Elizabeth voters approved a bond to fund construction of a new middle school and provide improvements to our elementary school. With construction already underway, I would support the School Building Committee in their efforts to collaborate with the project team, community members, administrators, educators in making decisions to keep the project on track and on budget and to keep the community informed.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

Do you think the state government is too involved in local schooling? Not involved enough? The right amount of involved? Explain your answer.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\n\n\n\n

The 2026 bell-to-bell cell phone-free school policy in Maine schools enacted by 2026 legislation is a good example of state government stepping in at the right time and in the right amount to ensure parity between districts in handling personal devices during the school day.
