These priorities focus on improving outcomes, supporting public safety and making more effective use of available community resources.

Why are you running?

I am seeking reelection based on 36 years of experience with the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office and a continued commitment to doing the job well. Working alongside dedicated deputies and county professionals, we expanded the jail from a 72-hour holding facility to a full-service operation, allowing us to provide more services while using resources more efficiently. I am proud of what we have accomplished together and am running to continue this work and serve Oxford County.

What is the biggest challenge facing your town/county? The biggest opportunity?

The biggest challenge facing our county is the lack of adequate jail funding across the state. This ongoing legislative issue continues to be delayed, placing an unnecessary burden on local taxpayers and limiting our ability to support people in custody in ways that help reduce repeat offenses and improve efficiency. The biggest opportunity is working with state leaders, partnering with Franklin and Androscoggin Counties to address jail overcrowding and secure a long-term, funding solution.

If you could change one thing about how the town/county functions, what would it be and why?

If I could change one thing about how the county functions, it would be how it is funded. County government relies heavily on local property taxes, which places a disproportionate burden on residents. A more balanced funding structure at the state level would ease that pressure, provide greater stability and allow counties to plan more effectively while continuing to deliver essential services.

Do you support more development – i.e. more housing construction and business building in your town/county? Why or why not?

Yes, I support responsible growth in our county. Thoughtful housing development and business expansion are important to meet community needs, support local jobs and strengthen the tax base. Growth must be balanced with infrastructure capacity and public safety services so that communities remain strong and sustainable. Done responsibly, development can improve opportunity while preserving the character of our towns and ensuring services keep pace with demand.

36 years of law enforcement experience; 25 years in U.S. Army Reserve; 2009 Iraq War veteran; 2002 Kosovo with the State Department/UN, 3X Medal of Valor Recipient; Father
224th Session FBI National Academy Graduate  Associate Degree in Criminal Justice at CMMC  Maine Criminal Justice Academy","voter_guide_candidate_years_in_municipality":"
[564

post-12257","candidate","type-candidate","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","vg_party-republican
["GET
