Top Three Priorities
My top priorities are lowering the cost of living for Maine families, expanding access to affordable housing, and strengthening the communities we call home. That means expanding childcare, rebuilding our workforce, supporting our schools and teachers, strengthening health care and access, and protecting Maine’s fishing heritage. I want Maine to be a place where people can afford to live, work, raise a family, and build a future.
Why are you running?
I believe politics should be about helping people. I’m running to continue being a strong voice for the community that raised me. Being born and raised here has shaped how I serve. I listen, I show up, I advocate, and I work hard to find practical solutions that improve people’s lives. It has been an honor to represent my neighbors, and I’m asking for the opportunity to continue that work.
What is one way Maine is on the right track? What is one way the state is on the wrong track?
Maine is on the right track by investing in people, expanding housing, child care, education, and support for our workforce. But we remain on the wrong track by failing to fully recognize the inherent sovereignty and self-determination of the Wabanaki Nations. Maine has made progress, but we must continue working toward a future where opportunity, dignity, and fairness extend to everyone who calls our state home.
As one of several dozen legislators in your chamber, how would you make a measurable difference for your constituents?
Making a difference starts with listening. I stay accessible, meet people where they are, and bring their concerns with me to Augusta. I advocate for individual constituents while also looking for ways to turn what I hear into better policy. I’ve learned that one legislator can make a measurable difference by building relationships, working across differences, and never losing sight of the people behind the policies.
Surveys show the economy is the top concern of voters. What is a specific proposal addressing Maine voters’ economic anxieties that you’d work to make law?
Maine has always been a place where hard work means something. It’s time our tax code reflected that. I would continue working to make our tax system fairer by asking those with the greatest ability to contribute to pay their fair share. Those resources can lower costs and invest in housing, child care, health care, education, property tax relief, and so much more. Mainers deserve a fair tax system that benefits us all.
