Top Three Priorities

Public Safety – By investing in youth programs and community policing, we can create more opportunities for Lewiston’s youth while helping to prevent crime. Housing – While we have successfully added hundreds of new housing units to Lewiston over the last several years, more are still needed. Economic Development – Businesses have always been at the heart of Lewiston’s community. I will continue to promote policies that attract new businesses and support the success of existing ones.

Why are you running?

Over the last four years, we’ve made significant progress in revitalizing Lewiston’s downtown neighborhoods and waterfront through strategic development programs like the Choice Neighborhoods grant. Still, there is more work to be done. I am running for a third term to continue this momentum, build on our successes, and ensure Lewiston remains a safe, vibrant, and affordable place to live and work.

What is the biggest challenge facing your town/county? The biggest opportunity?

Lewiston continues to face real challenges in public safety and youth development. Yet our expansive, underutilized waterfront remains one of our greatest economic opportunities. Over the next two years, I’ll work to implement the Riverfront Island Master Plan, creating jobs and recreation opportunities for young people while investing in the kind of economic growth and community spaces that help prevent crime and strengthen our city.

If you could change one thing about how the town/county functions, what would it be and why?

Lewiston’s greatest asset are its residents. We’re lucky to have a passionate, engaged community which truly cares about the future of Lewiston. I would like to continue finding new and creative ways for residents, business and community organizations to partner with the city and help develop informed solutions to our public safety, housing, and community development challenges.

Do you support more development – i.e. more housing construction and business building in your town/county? Why or why not?

Redeveloping historic and underutilized spaces into housing, businesses, and community spaces is key to Lewiston’s future. During my two terms as mayor, we added hundreds of new housing units, supported business expansions like Bourgeois Guitars, and helped transform the former Camden Yarns Mill into the new home of the Maine MILL. Projects like these bring more jobs, visitors, and income to Lewiston, helping us build a better future for all residents.
