Previous Offices Held

This is my first campaign for elected office. I have not previously held elected office.

Top Three Priorities

My priorities are restoring visible, proactive patrols throughout Knox County; improving fiscal accountability and responsible management of taxpayer dollars; and building a strong, supported workforce. I want deputies visible in our communities, employees equipped to succeed, and every dollar spent with a clear public-safety purpose.

Why are you running?

I’m running because Knox County deserves a working sheriff who is visible, accountable and actively involved in the department and community. My law enforcement, supervisory and business experience taught me that good leadership means showing up, supporting your people, managing resources responsibly and never forgetting that we work for the public.

What is the biggest challenge facing your town/county? The biggest opportunity?

Our biggest challenge is providing the public safety residents expect while taxpayers face rapidly rising costs. Our biggest opportunity is to rethink how we use our people, vehicles and resources. Better management, stronger staffing, proactive patrols and responsible spending can improve service without assuming the answer to every problem is simply spending more money.

If you could change one thing about how the town/county functions, what would it be and why?

I would bring greater transparency and accountability to county government. Taxpayers should be able to clearly understand where their money goes and what services they receive in return. As sheriff, I would bring a business-minded approach to budgeting, openly communicating with the public and ensuring spending decisions are driven by public safety and the needs of Knox County residents.

Do you support more development – i.e. more housing construction and business building in your town/county? Why or why not?

I support responsible growth that strengthens our communities while respecting the character of Knox County. Housing and thriving local businesses are essential to keeping working families here. As sheriff, my responsibility is to make sure public safety keeps pace with growth and that residents, businesses and visitors continue to see Knox County as a safe place to live, work and raise a family.
