She married Robert A. Perry, also of Danvers, in 1954, and they commenced a gratifying family and work life in Concord, Mass. for more than 30 years, after which they moved to Georgetown, Maine. There they fostered a love of the outdoors and family visits on that scenic and rugged coast, and formed many new friendships and took annual trips to California. Anne became a devoted volunteer with the Literacy Volunteers of America, and in the early 2000s received their national award in a ceremony in San Diego. She learned American Sign Language in her later years to converse with her granddaughter, as well as other hearing-challenged children when she volunteered with the Baxter School For The Deaf in Falmouth, Maine. Anne achieved the rare distinction of having left the world a better place, by helping a younger generation.
She leaves a daughter Jane P. Perry and husband Robert M. Devaney of Oakland, California; son Bruce W. Perry and spouse Stacy A. LeBaron of Warren, Vermont, and son James R. Perry and spouse Kelly A. Perry of Medway, Mass.; as well as six grandchildren: Patrick 0. and William O. Devaney; Rachel L. and Scott D.R. Perry; and Samantha L. and Benjamin J. Perry. Her sister Jane M. (Gorman) Stone passed away in 2003, and Anne also leaves her nieces and nephew, Andrea L. Reardon, Tracey A. Russo, and Paul E. Stone. Anne’s husband of 54 years Robert A. Perry predeceased her in 2008.
