BATH — The Bath Garden Club will meet at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Grace Episcopal Church on Washington Street.

This date coincides with the arrival of a food truck sponsored by the church, so members are asked meet 30 minutes earlier than usual for a social luncheon. A business meeting begins at noon, and a one-hour program is slated to start at 12:30 p.m.

The speaker, Matthew Carter of Green Island Stoneworks, will give a talk titled “ Dry Stone Walls of New England.” He has studied construction techniques with master stone wallers from the U. S., Canada and Great Britain. He is a certified advanced craftsman in dry stone walling, as well as a certified instructor who organizes and teaches workshops throughout New England.

His presentation includes a slide show on the history of stone walls, with examples of stone walls and bridges.

Club members are asked to park on Washington Street and walk up the path to the church entry whenever possible. Those who have hats, gloves, scarves or winter coats to donate can bring them to the Nov. 29 meeting. The church will help disseminate them to people who need winter clothing.

“Thanks goes to all those members who filled the Leeman Highway boxes with holiday evergreens and winter berries,” a Bath Garden Club release states.

The club’s December meeting will be a “Holiday Coffee” at 10 a.m. Dec. 13 at the home of Laurel Harris, 1 Edward Street, Bath. “As in the past, we will be taking a collection for the food pantry,” the release states.
