BRUNSWICK — Parkview Adventist Medical Center has again been awarded a threeyear term of accreditation in ultrasound as the result of a review by the American College of Radiology (ACR).

Ultrasound imaging, also known as sonography, uses high-frequency sound waves to produce images of internal body parts to help providers diagnose illness, injury or other medical problems. The award distinguishes Parkview as the only hospital in the region with the gold seal for ultrasound, according to a news release.

“Receiving the ACR gold seal only affirms Parkview’s commitment to giving its patients the highest quality of care and, conveniently, close to their homes,” said India Haynes, director of Diagnostic Imaging at Parkview.

The ACR gold seal of accreditation represents the highest level of image quality and patient safety.

“This is the gold standard of quality,” said Dr. Keith Fleming, director of Radiology at Parkview. “The ACR accreditation is the result of the hard work and dedication of Parkview’s technologists, with the support of the entire diagnostic imaging department. The technologists constantly strive to generate top-quality imaging examinations, and the accreditation is a validation of Parkview’s commitment to quality and excellence in imaging.”

Parkview Adventist Medical Center has also received ACR gold seals for its CT, mammography and breast biopsy programs.
