BATH — Laura Hiestand, branch manager, recently announced the opening of Primary Residential Mortgage Inc. in Bath.

The office is located at 37 Court St.

According to a news release, the company’s mission is to be a nationally respected, locally known home loan company whose purpose is to finance a client’s homeownership goals through a positive and personal experience.

Hiestand has been a mortgage banker in Maine for more than 21 years, writing mortgages in every county of the state. Prior to being a mortgage banker, Hiestand was a Realtor. Most recently at Key Bank, Hiestand is excited to be able to offer her services to all her past clients and friends through her new centralized office.

Joining Hiestand in the office is Randall Vail as loan assistant and loan officer trainee. He most recently worked at Key Bank as a personal banker, and has previous experience as a licensed financial adviser.

Hiestand lives in Bath with her partner Mark Akeley, along with chickens, two dogs and two cats. Her three sons are grown; two live in Portland and one in Sacramento, Calif. She has a B.S. degree in small business management from Fairleigh Dickinson University and is also a certified mortgage planner.

Vail lives in Boothbay Harbor and is a graduate of Boothbay Regional High School. He also is a graduate of Randolph Macon College in Virginia, with a B.A. degree in business and managerial economics.
