JAY — Peyton Gosselin scored near the 11-minute mark of the first half as the Lisbon High School field hockey team surprised Spruce Mountain, 1-0, in Mountain Valley Conference play.
Sydney Plourde assisted on the goal as the Greyhounds improved to 4-4.
Lisbon led in penalty corners, 12-5, while the Phoenix held a 16-9 edge in shots.
Greyhound netminder Becky Budesheim turned aside all 16 shots on her cage, while Melissa Bamford made seven stops for Spruce Mountain (5-3).
Lisbon visits Boothbay on Monday at 4 p.m.
Boys soccer
WALES — Caleb Vallieve scored the first two goals for Oak Hill in a 6-1 Mountain Valley Conference win over Wiscasset/Boothbay on Tuesday.
The Wolverines saw their two-game winning streak end, leaving Wiscasset with a 2-4 record heading into Saturday’s noon-time game at Monmouth.
Jordon Espeut tallied a goal eight minutes into the game for a 1-0 Wiscasset/Boothbay lead.
But, Vallieve made a 2-1 game with goals two minutes apart, and Seth Dyer and Riley Worth added first-half tallies for a 4-1 halftime lead for the Raiders.
In the second half, Gabe Sampson and Brady Bangs each scored for Oak Hill.
Playing well for the Wolverines were Matthew Smith, Josh Gabriele and Bayly Gaughan-Carrasco, along with Josh Hodson, James Hodson and Rowan Kristan.
Girls soccer
WISCASSET — Hannah Cola tallied a pair of second-half goals, leading Boothbay (4-3) to a 3-1 victory over the Wolverines (0-8) in MVC play
Cola pushed the Seahawks away from a scoreless tie with her two goals in the opening 10 minutes of the second half. Reagan Cola increased the lead to 3-0 before Kayla Cossette converted a penalty kick for Wiscasset.
Cola and Katy Nein had assists, and Emilie Crocker made seven saves for Boothbay.
Wiscasset’s Lily Souza also had seven saves.
The Wolverines visit Dirigo on Friday at 6 p.m.

Abriana Deslauriers had a hat trick as Oak Hill defeated Hyde in an MVC contest at Wales
Julia Noel had two goals and an assist for the Raiders (5-2). Eliza Whisenant and Grace Woodard each added a goal.
Paige Gonya made five saves in the victory, while Teal McLane made 14 saves for Hyde, which fell to 2-5 and hosts Telstar on Friday at 4 p.m.
