The Westbrook High School football team will clash with Kennebunk in the Class B South championship game on Friday, Nov. 14. The game is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Olmstead Field in Westbrook, 125 Stroudwater St.
The Portland Press Herald reported that Gio Staples scrambled for 5 yards in the final 30 seconds as the top-seeded Blue Blazes held off Marshwood, 15-12, on Nov. 7 in the semifinals.
The Westbrook Police Department said in a Facebook post that parking will be limited on Vocational Drive. Officers will assist fans in finding parking and advise early arrival. Vehicles in non-designated parking areas will be towed at the owners’ expense.
Westbrook marching band, color guard champs
The Westbrook High School marching band and color guard earned first place in the recent New England Scholastic Band Association championships, Superintendent Peter Lancia reported in a Facebook post.
“Westbrook earned best music, best drum major, best visual, best overall effect, and best percussion, as well,” Lancia reported.

The American Journal reported on Nov. 12, 1975, that Don Richards asked the Westbrook Urban Renewal Authority for permission to build a 5,000-square-foot food store next to Westbrook Memorial American Legion Post at 900 Main St.
