James “Jim” Donald

BRUNSWICK – James Donald Burgess Jr., affectionately known as “Jim”, died peacefully at home Oct. 13, 2025. Born May 31, 1977, Jim was a lifelong resident of Brunswick, known for his quick wit and humor. A self-taught scholar, he enjoyed debating philosophical ideas. In whatever job he held, Jim was pleasant and a hard worker. He was an avid fly tyer and fisherman. He particularly loved cats and was never without a feline companion.

Jim will be deeply missed by his mother, Carole Banks; his stepmother, April Burgess; his sisters, Donna (Tim) Gibson; Bethany (Steve) Burrill; Danae (Loren) Rice; and by his brother, Sam (Ali Williams) Burgess; as well as nine nieces and nephews. He was predeceased in 2013 by his father, James “Don” Donald Burgess.

A private family service will be held to honor Jim’s life.
