Cheverus jumped out to an early lead and held on to beat Deering 21-6 in a Class A/B football crossover game Friday night at Deering’s Memorial Field.

The Class B Stags (3-2) took a 7-0 lead on the opening drive when Colton Jewett scored on a 15-yard run. They made it 14-0 when AJ Lauture caught a 43-yard pass from Nick Deschambault just 9 seconds into the second quarter.

Deering (2-3) pulled within eight when Nathan Foley scored on a 27-yard run with 4:31 left, but Jewett scored again on a 55-yard run with 1:24 remaining.

Kevin True had a pair of interceptions for Cheverus.

FALMOUTH 38, BIDDEFORD 0: Abram Wintersteen scored three touchdowns in the first quarter and Tres Walker accounted for four touchdowns as the Navigators (3-2) defeated the Tigers (1-4) in Biddeford.

Wintersteen open the scoring with an 11-yard run, then hauled in two TD passes from Walker, for 45 and 44 yards.

Walker’s 5-yard scramble for a touchdown in the second quarter made it 25-0 at halftime.

Another long Walker-to-Wintersteen pass set up a 1-yard plunge by Owen Ross in the third quarter. Walker then connected with Luke Roy for a 4-yard TD.

WESTBROOK 41, POLAND 8: Gio Staples passed for two touchdowns in the first quarter, Owen Taylor returned an interception for a score, and the Blue Blazes (4-1) rolled past the Knights (3-2) in Westbrook.

Staples opened the scoring with a 59-yard pass to Dimitri Lubin. Later in the first, Staples scrambled long enough to find Andrew McNeill wide open in the end zone for a 24-yard score.

A 6-yard run in the second quarter by Andre Hicks III made it 20-0. In the third, Taylor deflected a pass in Poland’s backfield, caught it at the Knights 25 and waltzed into the end zone.

Westbrook added two more touchdowns in the fourth quarter – a 7-yard run by Cole Tanner and a 4-yard run by Lucas Robinson.

Poland’s Landon Cooper caught a 40-yard TD pass from Lukas Gayton with 22 seconds remaining, then added a 2-point conversion reception.

YARMOUTH 50, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 18: Iggy McGrath threw six touchdown passes for the Clippers (4-1) in a win over the Patriots (2-3) at Yarmouth.

McGrath connected with Adam Pelotte four times – two 5-yard throws, an 8-yard score and a 20-yard pass. Jackson Jabar caught a 16-yard TD pass, and Noah Tippie took a short pass 34 yards for a score.

Raphael McGuffie added a 12-yard TD run.

Gray-New Gloucester’s Brody Tracey had touchdown runs of 25 and 5 yards. Cole Prescott also scored on a short run.

NOBLE 35, MARSHWOOD 27: The Knights (4-1) erased a 21-0 deficit by scoring four straight touchdowns en route to a win over the Hawks (3-2) in North Berwick.

Mark Lapointe passed for three touchdowns and ran for a scoreless. His 46-yard strike to Aidan Keefe late in the third quarter gave Noble its first lead, 28-21.

Marshwood answered with a 5-yard TD run by Gregory Castoras in the fourth, but Carter Ouellette blocked the extra point. Ouellette then added a 4-yard touchdown run.

Lapointe started the comeback with TD passes of 12 yards to Jackson Mulligan and 42 yards to Keefe in the second quarter. He tied the game with a 13-yard run early in the third.

Marshwood grabbed its big lead on the strength of short touchdown runs by Cole Goodwin and Noah Goodwin in the first quarter, and a 13-yard pass from Michael Sbrizza to Cole Goodwin early in the second.

BONNY EAGLE 34, OXFORD HILLS 8: Colin Moran rushed for two touchdowns and Colby McCormack had a touchdown and two interceptions as the Scots (5-0) rolled past the Vikings (2-3) in Paris.

Bonny Eagle was forced to punt on its first drive, but retained possession when the ball hit an Oxford Hills player and the Scots recovered. Bonny Eagle took advantage when Moran threw 15-yard touchdown pass on fourth-and-goal.

McCormack scored on a 1-yard run with 5:13 left in the second quarter, and Ben Noe recovered an Oxford Hills fumble on the ensuing possession. Moran finished the drive with a 3-yard with 41.9 seconds left in the first half.

Lucas Klehn added a 3-yard run in the third quarter and Moran had a 1-yard run in the fourth.

Oxford Hills scored in the third quarter on a 52-yard pass from Brady Truman to Jackson Stack.

KENNEBUNK 35, GORHAM 10: Austin West had 17 carries for 271 yards, including touchdown runs of 87, 70 and 2 yards, as visiting Kennebunk handled Gorham.

Jaiden Homa caught a 35-yard TD pass from Sam Matthews, and Tim Laflamme ran it in from 2 yards for Kennebunk’s last score.

Garrett Poulin had a 7-yard rushing touchdown and Max Duplisea kicked a 28-yard field goal for Gorham.

SANFORD 36, EDWARD LITTLE 0: Ricky Callis had nine carries for 70 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Spartans (2-3) over the Red Eddies (1-4) in Sanford.

AJ Cote had a rushing touchdown and connected with Jayden Franco on a 40-yard TD reception. Franco had 12 rushes for 83 yards and four receptions for 103 yards. Cote completed 4 of 7 passes for 103 yards.

Brady Boissoneault also had a scoring rush for Sanford.
