Drew Nelson scored off a corner in the second quarter and Alex Leopold added a goal with 20 seconds remaining Monday as Waynflete beat Sacopee Valley 2-1 in a field hockey game in Portland.
Ava Vander Schaaf assisted on the first goal and Nicole Adler on the second for Waynflete (1-0). Ariana Gray answered for Sacopee Valley (0-2) with a goal in the final second.
Mya Clark of the Flyers and Lily Kick of Sacopee had three saves each.
SANFORD 10, BONNY EAGLE 0: Reese Beaudoin had three goals and an assist to lift the Spartans (2-0) past the Scots (1-1) in Sanford.
Hailey Payeur added two goals and three assists, while Ella Tederous had two goals and one assist. Miranda Payeur chipped in two goals, while Olivia Kezar had one and Zoey McCann had one assist.
Abigail Mercier stopped 26 shots for Bonny Eagle.
BOOTHBAY 10, TELSTAR 0: Zuri Smith scored four goals and the Seahawks (1-0) cruised to a win over the Rebels (0-2) in Bethel.
Moriah Smith and Frida Kirchhauser each scored twice, and Allie Smart and Lilly Ann Cowing also scored.
Madelyn Cooley made 22 saves for Telstar.
YARMOUTH 4, GREELY 0: Celia Zinman had three goals, Erica O’Connor also scored and the Clippers (2-0) defeated the Rangers (0-1-1) in Yarmouth.
Madison Wiles assisted on O’Connor’s goal. Emma Shannon and Stella Murdoch shared goaltending duties for Yarmouth.
Camryn Esposito stopped 11 shots for Greely.
TRAIP ACADEMY 5, WELLS 1: Noelle French poured in four goals as the Rangers (2-0) defeated the Warriors (0-1) in Wells.
Eden Varney added a goal and an assist.
YORK 2, POLAND 1: Bella Santini scored both goals for the Wildcats (1-1) in a win over the Knights (0-2) at Poland.

PINE TREE ACADEMY 7, RANGELEY 0: Seven players scored as the Breakers (1-0) beat the Lakers (0-1) in Rangeley.
Miguel Matos, Samuel Batista, Rhett Tyson, Camden Brace, Collin Verill, Abner Poland and Fitz Roy scored for Pine Tree. Verrill also had three assists. Colby Solberg stopped two shots.
VOLLEYBALL
BONNY EAGLE 3, WINDHAM 2: Tessa Gaudiano got eight of her 25 kills in the fifth set as the Scots (2-0) defeated the Eagles (0-2) in Windham, 21-25, 25-20, 25-20, 23-25, 15-6.
Allie Champagne helped fuel the win by serving the first 10 points of the final set. She also had 17 assists and five kills. Catherine Lopresti chipped in with five kills, seven blocks and three aces.
Windham got eight kills and three aces from Oakley McLeod, four kills and five aces from Gracie Rulman, and four kills and five blocks from Kendra Eubanks.
