The Terlingua Outpost is slated to open in August at 35 Washington Ave. in Portland. The Outpost is an extension of Terlingua and Ocotillo All Day Eats, and it will be located next to Terlingua, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary.
The Outpost, set to open Aug. 7, will carry the same grab-and-go house-made meals, smoked meats and barbecue and hot sauces that could be found previously at the Terlingua Market. The 16-seat café, offering soft-serve ice cream, espresso and both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, is a new addition. Customers at the Outpost can enjoy the “pocket-ritos,” or folded breakfast quesadillas, as well as sweet and savory kolaches — a beloved Texas pastry, with roots in the Czech Republic, that are just beginning to catch on nationally.
