
Police Sgt. Ted Hatch honored
Gorham Police Department’s Sgt. Ted Hatch was honored on June 20 as the recipient of the Pat Moody Traffic Safety and Community Service Award. The presentation came during the 2025 AAA and Maine Bureau of Highway Safety Impaired Driver’s Summit in South Portland.
Hatch said on Facebook he was “shocked and deeply humbled.”
“I cannot fully express the sincere gratitude I feel for this incredible honor,” Hatch said. “To be chosen for this recognition, knowing how many others are equally dedicated to this work and deserving, is truly humbling.”
Gorham gazebo concert
Andi Fawcett Duo will be in concert from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1, at the gazebo on the lawn at the Municipal Center, 75 South St.
Gorham Recreation Department sponsors the concert series that runs on Tuesdays through Aug. 5. Take a picnic and a chair or blanket and enjoy the performances.
Silver bullets reminder
The silver bullets recycling containers at the Public Works Department on Huston Road will be discontinued effective July 1.
Residents are reminded to use their curbside collection recycling bins. Other options include Riverside Recycling at 910 Riverside St., Portland, and Casella Transfer Station at 5945 County Road, Westbrook.

The American Journal reported on June 25, 1975, that Boy Scout Troop 73 at First Parish Congregational Church held potluck supper and a court of honor. A candle lighting ceremony opened the court of honor led by Scoutmaster Clifford Mains and assisted by Carson Wood, Ron Nickerson Jr. and Jonathan Acker.
