The Rockland Public Library will present a lawn concert at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 26, featuring The Sugar Snaps, an eight-piece R&B band. This event is free and open to all.
The Sugar Snaps are a high-energy band from Midcoast Maine. Featuring powerhouse vocals and a classic horn section, the group brings to life the rich back catalog of lesser-known funk and soul tunes sprinkled with occasional popular hits by artists like Maceo Parker, Sharon Jones, Stevie Wonder, Ann Peebles, Al Green and the Meters.
Attendees can set up chairs and blankets on the library lawn outside the 80 Union St. entrance. For more information, email elewis@rocklandmaine.gov or call 594-0310.
