A bomb threat in Fryeburg on Friday afternoon led to two schools being evacuated, disrupting extracurricular activities.

Students, staff and attendees of nearby events were safely relocated to a roller rink on Bridgton Road, News Center Maine reported.

Roads in the area were shut down in the wake of the evacuations as authorities investigated the scene.

Officials are working to determine the credibility of the threat.

Fryeburg’s public safety departments, the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office and the Maine State Police bomb squad responded to the threat.
