A 25-year-old Lebanon resident riding a motorcycle with another person died in a crash in Virginia on Sunday, local police said.

Jake Martel died of his injuries after being transported to a University of Virginia hospital, the Albemarle County, Virginia, Police Department said in a post on social media. Martel was identified Monday.

Police and emergency crews were called to a single-vehicle crash on a rural road northwest of Charlottesville at around 1:40 a.m., the department said.

Police have not identified the other rider, who was also transported to the hospital. Their condition was not available Tuesday night.

It wasn’t clear who was driving and who was the passenger.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the department’s reconstruction team.
