I met Cory Fellows and his family many years ago when I was running a day camp at my farm and his children were campers. We’ve remained friends over the years as our children grew up.
I am consistently impressed by Fellows’ measured work, his capacity to listen and engage and his ability to lace complex details together to broker a solution.
In his roles on the Planning Board and the Long-Range Planning Commission, Fellows demonstrated an extraordinary effort to be fair and effective while also presenting solutions to move forward. His ability to support participation by residents in the democratic process of town government by ensuring their experience is one of being heard and included is essential to building trust. I know Fellows will be thoughtful in his work when elected to the Scarborough Town Council. His commitment to understand the needs of residents, business and the town government will serve us well.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
