Prior to 1969, Maine had no income tax. The mass majority of families thrived on one income. Maine did not incentivize becoming a welfare state or depend on federal funds to function. Can you imagine this reality today? In 2024, two-income households are struggling to make ends meet. This in spite of having an income tax while 40% of the budget is subsidized by federal money.
It is time to insist leadership in Augusta operate in a fiscal reality. How are our fixed income, young families and disabled supposed to remain afloat? These concerns led Rolf Olsen to run for Maine State House of Representatives for Raymond. From personal experience, Rolf will prove his worth in gold. As a Raymond town official, he has made great financial decisions. He is fiscally intelligent and prioritizes our abilities over government intervention.
Please join me in voting for House candidate Rolf Olsen for Raymond.
