Sen. Teresa Pierce has shown leadership, expertise, compassion and common sense in the Maine Legislature. She has advocated strongly for affordable housing, pre-K through higher education, and a strong economy with a sensible and bipartisan budget. Pierce served as chair in the House on the all-important Appropriations Committee, she has been a leader for years on the Education Committee and currently chairs the Joint Select Committee on Housing.
I personally have worked with Pierce to support the first years of children’s lives, and to support improvements in our child care system which is critical to working parents and to our current and future workforce across Maine.
I urge residents in Falmouth, Cumberland, North Yarmouth, Gray, Long Island and certain parts of Yarmouth to vote early, and vote to reelect Sen. Teresa Pierce.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
